WHAT IS WIMAX ?

WIMAX:- wimax stands for World wide Interoperability for Microwave Access. It is a telecommunication protocol that provides fixed and mobile internet services. wimax requires a tower called wimax base station which is connected to internet using a standard wired high speed connection. The connectivity between the tower and the end user is provided through microwave link. wimax technology provides high speed connection up to 75 Mbps over the area of 30 miles for fixed stations and 3-10 miles for mobile stations.

SATELLITE:- The satellite broadband internet connection requires satellite dish and other supporting hardware to receive the satellite signal. The speed offered by this connection is 1Gbit/s for downloading and 10Mbit/s for uploading. This speed is slower than any other types of broadband internet connections since weather affects the signal quality to a large extent. It is not limited to a geographical area.
