OPERA:- This web browser was developed by opera software in 1996. It is a popular web browser in mobile devices. It is compatible with many operating systems, such as Solaris, Linux,Mac OS X, and microsoft windows. It is easy to use and has common features, i.e., zoom and fit-to width, content blocking, tabs and sessions download manager with Bit Torrent, and mouse gestures.

MOZILLA FIREFOX ?

MOZILLA FIREFOX:-  This was officially introduced in February 2004, and is owned by Mozilla corporation. It is the second most famous browser after internet explorer. It has undergone many version changes and updates and it can be used with most operating systems. It is popular because of its tabbed browsing, superior security features, and fast loading time. Session storage is also an important feature of Firefox, which allows the user to regain access to the open tabs after he/she  has closed the browser window.

MSIE:- It was developed by Microsoft in 1994, and released in 1995. presently, it is known as windows internet explorer. The latest version of internet explorer is IE11,  which is a free update. GOOGLE CHROME:-  It is most popular web browser. This was developed by Google, and was released in 2008 for Microsoft windows. Google chrome aims to improve security, speed, and stability. During June 2013, according to statcounter, chrome overtook internet explorer for the first time in the US. Google chrome is available in 53 languages.

WEB BROWSER:- web browser is a software which is used to view web sites. It is an interface between a user and the world wide web. A web browser can have a graphical user interface like internet Explorer,Mozilla firefox, Google chrome, opera, or can be text-based, like Lynx. It can be installed on a single computer. The user can navigate files, folders and web sites using hyper link, Multiple tabs and windows of the same browser can be opened. The features and facilities offered by a web browser include downloads, bookmarks, and password management. It also offers functions like spell checking, search engine toolbars, tabbed browsing, advertisement filtering, HTML access keys and pop-up blocking.

WHAT IS WORLD WIDE WEB ?

WORLD WIDE WEB:- The www (world wide web) or simple web is a way of accessing information over the internet. It contains millions of documents or ' bunch of pages' called web pages. Each page contains text,graphics,video,audio and link to other web pages via hyperlink. The web uses the HTTP (hyper text transfer protocal) for the transfer of these documents over the internet.
Sir Tim Berners Lee, along with Robert Cailliau, invented the world wide web while working at CERN (European council for Nuclear Research) in 1990. Today, the world wide web is the greatest database of human knowledge.

HOW DOES THE WWW WORK ?

WWW:- www is a true example of client-server technology. A person who uses internet, uses a software known as web browser and requests for a document or a web page located somewhere on the web. The browser requests the Internet host/ server which contains that document. The browser thus acts as a customer or a client. The internet host after receiving the request passes the information to the clients. The total flow of information is controlled by a net protocol. The protocol used in this exchange is called HYPER TEXT TRANSFER PROTOCOL. web pages are written in simple markup language called Hyper Text Markup Language. Nobody can even think of that how many million pages are there on the web. They are made y individuals, organizations or the one who wants to publish them.
